Easy Buffalo Hummus
My love for chicken wing dip goes wayyy back. I think it’s the first dip everyone learns to make. Am I right? I can remember high school weekends whipping up chicken wing dip and eating basically the entire thing. Yum.
This week, I’m on “spring break” from school, but I still have to work so it’s not really a full break. I do have a little extra time for myself in the afternoons to catch up on work and even sneak in some shopping. Yesterday afternoon was a little rainy, and for some reason the rain immediately reminded me of chicken wing dip. I knew I had to make SOMETHING (which was probably a good idea to distract me from some more shopping).
Thankfully, my diet has changed a little (lotta) bit since high school, so I needed to think of a healthier version of course. And one of my favorite snacks is hummus. So why not make a buffalo hummus? After a little testing, this came out perfect. Serve it with chips, veggies, on a sandwich, or just on your finger. Let me tell you, this baby is delicious.
- one 15 ounce can chick peas
- juice of one small lemon
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp paprika
- 2 tsps olive oil
- 1/8 cup tahini
- 1/8 cup hot sauce (I DEFINITELY prefer Frank's Buffalo Wing Sauce)
- 1/8 cup water
- 1/8 cup scallions, sliced thin
- handful blue cheese
- 2 tbsp hot sauce
- Add all ingredients to a blender or food processor and blend until smooth. Add more hot sauce to taste, depending on how much spice you like. Garnish with scallions, extra hot sauce, or even blue cheese.
